I have known Faduma Hussein for nine years. During most of those years she worked with the group home where my son a Down's syndrome man – was a resident. There were, along with my son, five other young men with various disabilities. She supervised their care and oversaw the staff who provided their care 24/7 in the group home. The parents and guardians of these young men felt very fortunate to have such a caring and competent person in charge. Our son died of cancer in June 2007. I am especially grateful to Faduma for overseeing his many doctor appointments for diagnosis, surgery, keeping track of his medications, records, etc. She was always gracious and wise in dealing with the many various personalities that came into her work life. She is reliable and has a warm heart and has the skills and experience to see that her clients are well served in her care. -Ruth S. Riley
I have know Faduma for nine years. I met her when she became a counselor at the group home in Arlington where my developmentally disabled son was resident. She worked with him and five other developmentally disabled young men. She prepared their meals, provided personal care, and subsequently became the coordinator of the home supervising several staff members. Her administrative duties involved maintaining records for each resident, completing numerous reports concerning them, keeping track of and taking them to their medical and dental appointments, as well as administrating their prescribed medications. I especially admire Faduma for the excellent rapport that she had with my son, who, because of his inability to speak, was difficult to deal with at times. -Amelia A. Thomas
